Three new COVID cases recorded in Sudbury area on Wednesday

Public Health Sudbury and Districts recorded three new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday.

At the same time, the number of active cases – 20 – remains unchanged from Tuesday.

One case was in Greater Sudbury, while two were in the District of Sudbury. Public Health’s territory also includes Espanola and Manitoulin Island.

Two of the cases were the result of exposure to someone with COVID-19.

The health unit continues to deal with one outbreak, at the IAMGOLD Cote Mine Project in Gogama.

The number of vaccinations also continues to rise: Health staff in the Sudbury area has administered 144,234 shots so far; 113,034 people have received at least one shot and 31,200 have received two doses and are fully vaccinated.
