“Local businesses are giving you the opportunity to purchase gift certificates at 60 per cent of their actual value,” said Tim Thomson, Sudbury Star media sales consultant. “It’s all online. It’s first-come, first-served, so be sure to have your computer set up and ready for 8 a.m.”

Thomson said Frugal Friday has been done by The Sudbury Star before, but it could be featured more frequently shortly.

“This is something we want to do every month,” he said.
